Ryan Daniel Render, AKA Rendarrio
I was born and raised in Irvine, California where I learned at
an early age to be my own boss. Being the youngest boy in the
family, I was always up for a challenge and a dare. My older brother
Josh and I would often work for neighbors and friends in order
to earn our own money. This sort of inner drive allowed me to
see beyond following my parents (Bob and Kathi) into the family
business of teaching. Upon moving to the Central Coast to attend
California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, I fell
in love with the vines and wines of the area. While studying Agricultural
Business with Minors in Viticulture and Wine Marketing I worked
for several wineries. The experience that I gained working for
Domaine Alfred, Castoro Cellars, JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery
and Dover Canyon allowed me to learn by doing. I have been working
for Seguin Moreau Napa Cooperage since 2002 and this has allowed
me to expand my knowledge of winemaking and regions even farther.
I have been making my wines at Villa Creek since the 2006 harvest
and have gained knowledge working beside Cris and Joanne Cherry
(Owners and Winemakers for Villa Creek). Cris and Joanne have
given me a great opportunity to make wine my way alongside helping
words of encouragement. Without this chance I would not have been
able to create and grow Rendarrio Vineyards. The 2006 Vintage
will be the first commercial release to the public. I want to
thank everyone that has made this possible, especially the following
wineries: Villa Creek Cellars, Grey Wolf Cellars, Dover Canyon
Winery, Jacob Toft Wines, Midnight Cellars, Starr Ranch, and Doce
Robles Winery.
